Norbert Wagner M.D. Ph.D. is a German medical doctor and company auditor with more than 17 years of professional experience in occupational & environmental health and public health.

His medical experience includes hospital training in internal and emergency medicine. He passed the German board certification ("Facharztbezeichnung") for occupational medicine and the German board licenses ("Zusatzbezeichnung") in emergency medicine and aviation medicine. His past and current diplomas include tropical & travel medicine, diving medicine and radiation protection.

He started working as a company doctor in 1993. In 2002, he moved to India and started teaching occupational health and providing consultant services to global companies. This consultant service includes work in Africa and Asia. He is currently teaching occupational health at an US-American university as director of the International Program in Occupational Health Practice.

He has worked for more than six years in development organizations and started consulting for development agencies in 2006.

For global companies he is auditing overseas operations regarding occupational health & safety management systems (OHSAS 18001) and in social accountability (SA 8000).

He developed teaching curricula for academic and non-academic education programs for residential and web-based training as well as for train-the-trainers programs. Most of his students were and are from developing countries.

Norbert Wagner has lived with his wife on three continents and was an expatriate in India for almost five years. As a consultant and lecturer he traveled to more than 15 countries in South East and South Asia, Northern and Central Africa, and Latin America. He conducts his work and teaching in several languages: German, English, French and Spanish.
